Spark Plugs in Wilmot, PEI

Why should I get this done?

Spark plugs are recommended to be changed every 80,000 to 100,000 km, mainly due to the fact they help with preventative maintenance and overall engine performance.

Older spark plugs require a higher voltage to get a strong enough spark to start the vehicle. When a spark jumps the gap between two electrodes, it burns off small amounts of metal from one another. Over time, that gap grows to where that spark can no longer make the jump. Thatโ€™s when you start
having troubles.

Getting the plugs replaced when they become recommended can help in many ways. But the two reasons that I consider to be the best are that they help with fuel consumption and cold starting in our super fun winters.

Spark plugs do a lot for our vehicles. They help us know a bit more about the internal condition
of the engine, keep that dreaded check engine light away, prevent misfires and even help with
trouble starting.

Replacing these plugs helps remove any unneeded stress on other parts of the engine as well,
like your catalytic converter, which is way more expensive than replacing these plugs
when recommended.
